New “budget” treasury system available

Auckland-based treasury outsourcing firm, ETOS has developed and is marketing a new lower-cost treasury management computer system. ETOS is selling the “ETOS Resolution” system to the SME market. ETOS Resolution is a joint venture between ETOS Limited and Resolution Financial Software Limited of Christchurch, who had already developed existing on-line financial instrument revaluation products and services.

Well-respected financial markets mathematics expert, academic and software developer Dr Greg Anderson of Crighton Anderson is a principal of Resolution Financial Software Limited. The “ETOS Resolution” system does the basics of recording FX/interest rate transactions and producing reports on exposure positions, cashflows, transactional diaries and marked-to-market revaluations on derivatives. The software is provided on-line through secure passwords.

The system sells for $8,000 to $12,000 a year, well below the pricing level of other treasury software systems currently available in the marketplace. The system caters for hedge accounting requirements and takes a financial markets pricing data feed. New Zealand has a proud history of developing treasury software systems, commencing with the Kapiti banking system in the early 1980's, to the Quantum system that is now owned by SunGard and the locally developed Pro-Rate system that became Oracle's treasury module.
